What an appointment looks like.

Initial intake
45 minutes · video or in person

A careful first conversation. We'll cover your history, current symptoms, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping for. We end with a working diagnostic impression and a recommended plan you can think over before we start.

Medication management
15 minutes · video or in person

Med checks to start, adjust, or taper medication safely. We monitor response, side effects, labs as needed, and the parts of life the medication is meant to support. Prescriptions are sent to the pharmacy of your choice.

Screening call
10 minutes · phone

A brief, no-cost phone call to make sure Isla Psychiatry is a good fit, answer basic questions, and discuss next steps before scheduling an intake.

Care coordination
included with active care

With your written consent, we coordinate with your therapist, primary care provider, and other specialists so your team is aligned on goals and changes.

Depression

Persistent low mood, loss of interest, postpartum depression, treatment-resistant depression.

Anxiety

Generalized anxiety, panic, social anxiety, health anxiety, perimenopausal mood and anxiety.

ADHD (adult)

Evaluation and ongoing management. We take stimulant prescribing seriously and follow current best practice.

OCD & related

Obsessive-compulsive concerns, intrusive thoughts, trichotillomania, body-focused repetitive behaviors.

PTSD & trauma

Trauma-informed medication support alongside trauma-focused therapy. We refer to specialty therapy partners as needed.

Sleep difficulties

Insomnia, disrupted sleep tied to anxiety or depression. Conservative use of sleep medications.

Life transitions

Grief, burnout, career changes, perinatal mental health, identity-related stress.

Co-occurring concerns

Conditions that travel together — for example, anxiety with sleep issues, ADHD with depression.

What we don't treat

Active substance use disorders, eating disorders requiring intensive care, and psychiatric emergencies. We will help you find the right level of care.

Fees and insurance

Isla Psychiatry currently operates as a self-pay practice. We provide a superbill on request that you can submit to your insurer for out-of-network reimbursement. Current fees are shared during the screening call.
